The Sovabazar Sree Ramakrishna Sarada Siksha Niketan is purely a Social Service Organization (Reg. No. S/1L/27647) having a non-political and non-commercial character. Its establishment was the result of the decision of the founder members for vision of social work, which would engage in a continuous study of our social issues and problems.
Since the beginning, in this 15 years span, the Organisation has been expanding continuously in terms of educational programs and infrastructure. While responding to the needs of the social and educational system in the State, the organization is mainly engaged in imparting free education to the children from the families belonging to Economically Weaker Section and backward class of the society.
Since its inception, the SSRSSN has never limited itself to the mandate of a conventional teaching centre; rather, it has worked for the promotion of sustainable, equitable and participatory development and social welfare.
Over the years, the Organization has, among other thrusts, made a significant contribution to policy, planning and action strategies development, in several areas, ranging from sustainable rural and urban development to education, health, and communal harmony. In all cases, the focus has been on the disadvantaged and marginalized sections of society.

Today, the SSRSSN has earned recognition as an Organization of repute from different valuable persons of our society. This is due to the academic freedom leading to a positive work ethos and creativity in the Organization, strong linkages among education, field action and dissemination and the social commitment and responsiveness to varying social needs.
